We are glad to confirm Professor Ardhendu Behera, Professor of Computer Vision & AI and co-director/founder of the Intelligent Visual Computing Research Centre at Edge Hill University in United Kingdom as one of the Keynote Speakers. He has been PI of several projects on developing Computer Vision and AI algorithms to analyse and recognise visual content, human behaviour, and activities. He is a member of the British Computer Society, AAAI & IEEE, and a Fellow of HEA of the UK. Prof Behera has published high-quality journals/conference papers and many of them are interdisciplinary. He has delivered keynotes and is involved in various outreach activities.
His dementia monitoring research (social robotics and multimodal AI) was covered by national/international media (e.g., BBC News, BBC Radio, The Times, The Sun, ITV & many more). He delivered the keynote speech in NCVPRIPG 2019 and ICIoT 2019 and was invited speaker at: 1) Home Care Research Forum at King’s College London, 2) Alzheimer’s Research UK – Public meeting at Leeds, and 3) Palliative Care, Architecture and Designs Symposium at the University of Liverpool. Prof Behera’s research interest is focused on deep learning, computer vision, and multimodal AI, and their applications in automotive, defence and security, and healthcare domains. He is currently involved in collaborative research involving researchers from the University of Bristol, University of Leeds, IISc Bangalore, IIT Madras, UCL, QMUL, MMU, University of Hertfordshire, University of Liverpool, University of Portsmouth, University of Brighton, and Loughborough University.
Prof Behera is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and has published high-quality research papers (e.g., ECCV, AAAI, ACCV, BMVC, WACV, ICPR, IEEE Trans Affective Computing, IEEE Trans on Image Processing, IEEE Trans on Intelligent Transportation Systems, etc.). He is also a reviewer in many top-tier conferences/journals (e.g., CVPR, ICLR, ICML, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, BMVC, Pattern Recognition, CVIU, and many more).
