Dr Celestine Iwendi, the esteemed Head of the Centre of Intelligence of Things at the University of Bolton, has introduced an updated version of his innovative research framework, ACRID—Approve, Create, Recreate, Improve, Disprove. This enhanced approach is designed to guide researchers in selecting impactful topics and achieving excellence in their work across various fields.

The ACRID methodology focuses on critical aspects of the research process, including crafting compelling abstracts, writing detailed introductions, conducting thorough literature reviews, and developing robust methodologies. It also emphasizes the importance of clear preliminary data, insightful discussions, and honest acknowledgment of limitations, all aimed at significantly enhancing the quality and impact of scholarly work.

Since its release, the updated ACRID model has garnered significant attention, being clicked by over 200,000 people on LinkedIn in just a few days and receiving over 300 reposts. With over 23 years of technical expertise and a PhD in Electronics Engineering, Professor Celestine has a distinguished career in academia and industry, particularly in the fields of wireless sensor networks, AI, ML, and IoT. His contributions to these areas have earned him recognition from the Royal Academy of Engineering through the Exceptional Talent Scheme and a place among the World’s Top 2% Influential Scientists, as published by Elsevier.

In addition to his role at the University of Bolton, Celestine is actively involved in the IEEE community, serving as the Chair of the Election Committee of IEEE Computer Society Worldwide 2024 and as an IEEE Brand Ambassador.
